What You Need
To modify your MSI BIOS with AMIBCP v4.53 11, you will need the following items:
A notebook with an MSI motherboard and an AMI Aptio4 BIOS. You can check your BIOS version by pressing Del or F2 during boot.
The latest original BIOS from MSI. You can download it from the official MSI website or use the MSI Live Update utility.
A USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space.
Rufus 2.xx, a tool that allows you to create a bootable USB drive with FreeDOS. You can download it from here.
AFUDOS v3.06, a BIOS update utility from AMI for DOS with BIOS security bypass feature. You can download it from here.
AfuWin, a BIOS update utility from AMI for Windows NT. You can download it from here.
AMIBCP v4.53 11, the BIOS configuration program that we will use to modify the BIOS image. You can download it from here.
(Optional) AMI ChangeLogo, a tool that allows you to change the BIOS boot logo. You can download it from here.
(Optional) A modified BIOS image with almost all settings unlocked. You can use this if you don't want to edit the BIOS yourself. You can download it from here. This is for BIOS version E16H5IMS.10F only and should be used only for the same notebook as ours.
Steps by Step
Once you have gathered all the necessary items, you can follow these steps to modify your MSI BIOS with AMIBCP v4.53 11:
Make a backup of your current BIOS image using AfuWin.
Open AfuWin.exe and click on the "Progress" tab.
Click on the "Save" button and choose where to save and what to name your backup file. You can leave it as afuwin.rom or use something else.
After the backup is completed, click "Exit" and save a copy of the backup file to a safe place.
Edit your BIOS image using AMIBCP v4.53 11.
